Vice President of Student Affairs

Tacoma Community College, a nationally recognized tier-one community college, seeks nominations and applications for the position of Vice President of Student Affairs (VPSA). The position offers an extraordinary opportunity to partner with President Ivan L. Harrell II, Ph.D. and a dedicated faculty and staff to ensure that TCC is well positioned to continue serving its students and the community in the decades to come. 

Strong candidates will bring a sophisticated, in-depth understanding of student affairs and its important role with campus operations, specifically in an urban, multicultural community college environment.  Candidates must have experience leading a comprehensive and complex Student Affairs division with proven results that shows strong leadership supporting student success as well as positioning the college to readily address future challenges.  A key driver of successful VPSA leadership will be a well-organized, collaborative, data-driven approach to enrollment management, coupled with a commitment to Guided Pathways as an important instrument of student success.

Founded in 1965 as one of 34 community colleges in the state, Tacoma Community College (TCC) is located in the growing and richly diverse city of Tacoma, Washington, an urban city located on Puget Sound. One of four community and technical colleges in the Tacoma-Pierce County region, TCC offers more than 60 two-year degrees, professional and technical certificates and Bachelor of Applied Science degrees to its 12,000+ students served annually.  It is considered one of the leading institutions for transfer to four-year colleges and universities in the area.
