Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) invites applications and nominations for the Margaret Clark Morgan Chair of Psychiatry in the College of Medicine (COM).

Located on more than 100 acres in the center of one of the country’s top health care regions, NEOMED is among nationally-ranked hospitals, research companies and institutions of higher education that are thriving in the health sciences. NEOMED is a community-based, public university that partners with other colleges and universities; health care providers, pharmacies and research companies; and business, civic and public leaders to help bring wellness and access to health care to the medically underserved in Ohio and throughout the nation.

The COM is home to 15 academic departments, over 2,300 faculty members, more than 24 teaching hospitals and healthcare partners, and has a 98% graduate residency match. The Department of Psychiatry at NEOMED is based at the Rootstown campus and has a clinical presence at the hospitals, community mental health agencies and private practice offices of psychiatrists and psychologists throughout northeast Ohio. The Department of Psychiatry faculty is comprised of psychiatrists and psychologists in clinical practice in hospital, public and private practice settings. The department is committed to the tripartite mission of teaching, clinical service and research and scholarly activities. Its faculty is actively involved in teaching medicine students and psychiatry residents and is dedicated to the lifelong learning expected of all physicians.

The Chair of Psychiatry in the College of Medicine (COM) is an established, innovative board-certified psychiatrist responsible for developing a shared departmental vision that aligns with the University and College’s strategic plans. The Chair is committed to the tripartite mission of teaching, clinical/community service and research/scholarly activities. The ideal candidate must have an M.D. or D.O. degree and be board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Additional advanced degree(s) are preferred.
