Assistant Professor - Construction Management

Department of Construction Management: School of the Built Environment. Bowling Green State University.

Position: Full-time, Tenure-track Assistant Professor, Department of Construction Management, School of the Built

Environment. Start Date August 2020.

Primary Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to: 1) Teach and develop a variety undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in construction management; 2) Develop expertise in Sustainability and Resilience related with one or more of the following areas: building systems, building science, building performance analytics, life cycle assessments, intelligent construction techniques, changing climatic effects on the built environment, building health, or other relevant topics as they pertain to sustainable, lean design and construction, ‘green’ buildings and/or resilient infrastructure. Other areas of expertise may also be considered such as: Building Information Modeling (BIM); Surveying and Inspection; Residential Construction; Healthcare Construction; Demolition and Restoration; 3) Develop an externally funded research program; 4) Publish in high quality journals; 5) Advise/mentor undergraduate and graduate students; and 6) Perform service to the department, school, college, and university.

Minimum Qualifications: 1) An earned doctorate degree in construction engineering or management, civil engineering, architecture, architectural engineering, or closely related field. ABD candidates will be considered but must complete their Ph.D. by the position start date; 2) Demonstrated ability to conduct research in previously listed areas as evidenced by at least one peer-reviewed journal article (or) authored/presented at least one conference paper (or) secured at least one externally funded research project; 3) Construction management or related industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 1) Professional licensure such as Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA) granted by a state board of registration; 2) Professional level certifications such as: Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Certified Construction Manager (CCM); American Institute of Constructors (AIC); Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP); Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED AP), Passive House Institute US (PHIUS); Certified Facility Manager (CFM).
