Faculty in Supply Chain Operations Management and International Business

Metropolitan State University, Minnesota’s public, urban university, and three-time recipient of the Insight Into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award, most recently in 2019, is seeking to hire a Tenure Track Professor.  This is a full- time position within the Department of Marketing, Supply Chain Operations Management and International Business.

The School/Academic Department:  The College of Management offers student-centered undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs in the Twin Cities metropolitan area and beyond. These programs are designed to serve a diverse student population with an applied, globally-oriented curriculum, empowering them to achieve career goals as ethical and strategic leaders and managers in business, government, and non-profit organizations.  The Department of Marketing, Supply Chain Operations Management, and International Business combines three major curricular disciplines that represent a significant part of an organization’s daily operations. 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Faculty members are expected to demonstrate ability to teach Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, and Project Management courses effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
  • Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement
  • Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study
  • Contribute to student growth and development through advising and assistance and engage in service to the university and community
  • Outstanding candidates will demonstrate a commitment to serving a culturally diverse student body through delivering a student-centered education in a liberal arts and sciences context and will possess the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • ABD, Ph.D. or DBA from an AACSB, ACBSP or equivalently accredited program specializing in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Project Management.  ABD candidates will be considered if they expect their doctoral degree in hand by August 2020.
  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level, to include one year of teaching online courses in supply chain management and/or operations management.
  • Minimum of one publication in a refereed journal related to supply chain management, operations management, or project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design of at least one online course in supply chain management, operations management, or project management.
  • Communication skills (written & verbal) to communicate with a variety of persons and groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • At least two years of work experience in Supply Chain Management and/or Operations Management. 
  • Demonstrated experience in developing relationships with industry.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and using online learning tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in Supply Chain-, Project Management-, Operations Management- and/or Marketing-related curriculum development.
  • Demonstrated experience developing relationships with professional organizations like APICS, CSCMP, ISM, and PMP.
  • Holder of certification(s) in CSCP, SCPro, PMP, or CPIM.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing student clubs and chapters.

Salary:  Salary is commensurate with education and experience, and is determined by the salary placement process as outlined in the Inter Faculty Organization (IFO) Master Agreement.
