Department of Architecture and Environmental Design: School of the Built Environment. Bowling Green State University.

Position: Full-time, Tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor, Department of Architecture and Environmental Design, School of the Built Environment. Start Date August 2020.

Primary Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to: 1) Teach and lead graduate design studio instruction and curriculum development at the M.Arch. level, including lectures/seminars in the B.S.Arch. and M.Arch. programs as needed; 2) Procure funding to support design-build endeavors in the School and/or develop research scholarship in one or more areas related with digital fabrication, material science, sustainable construction methods, building systems integration, community/public interest design; 3) Advise/mentor undergraduate and graduate students; and 4) Perform service to the department, school, college and university.

Minimum Qualifications: 1) Master's level professional degree in architecture (M. Arch. or equivalent); PhD is welcome, but not required; 2) Record of excellence in professional practice and/or creative design-build experience as demonstrated by one or more of the following: built work, construction expertise, digital fabrication, creative exhibitions, research/scholarly activities; 3) Candidates with Master’s level professional degree (M. Arch. or equivalent) require professional registration prior to tenure and promotion. Candidates with PhD degree do not require professional registration prior to tenure and promotion. Rank of Assistant or Associate will be determined based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.

Preferred Qualifications: 1) Peer-reviewed awards in professional practice; 2) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED AP), Passive House Institute US (PHIUS); 3) Knowledge of digital software applications in architecture (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
