Position Description:
The Associate Director, who will reside and work in Northern California, is responsible for developing and overseeing strategies and tactics to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospective Chancellor's Associates (CA) donors in the Northern California and Pacific Northwest region. Reporting to the Senior Director of Regional Giving for the Northwest, and under the oversight of the Executive Director for Regional Giving, the Associate Director will develop and maintain a dynamic portfolio of prospects and donors. This individual will also team with the Senior Director and major gift officers in the identification of major gift prospects and will contribute to the building of a major gift pipeline of new, renewed and upgraded annual and major gift donors from alumni, parents and friends. Utilizing internal databases, the Associate Director will create individualized solicitation plans, adhering to an established regional budget, including direct solicitation and special event activity, for the purpose of obtaining gifts at the $2,500 - $99,999 levels to UCLA. The Associate Director will develop and manage a regional volunteer committee comprised of CA donors who assist in cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities, including planning and staffing fundraising events, for the purpose of increasing UCLA and Chancellor's Associates visibility regionally and prospect/donor engagement in order to meet regional annual fund goals. This individual will develop, mentor, motivate and grow the regional volunteer committee empowering volunteers through education and goal setting.

Additionally, the Associate Director works collaboratively with the Parents Fund to increase regional parent giving; develops relationships with development colleagues across campus and collaborates to increase giving and donor involvement; works in partnership with the other UCLA Regional Directors and campus unit Directors of Development to discuss and share best practices for effective cultivation, solicitation and stewardship including strategies for obtaining and planning visits.
