Assistant Professor, Postsecondary Education

The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Educational Psychology, Foundations, and Leadership Studies seeks applications for the Tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Postsecondary Education. The position will be available beginning the academic year 2020-21, with possibility for summer appointment.

Candidates are sought to complement the existing strengths of the faculty in a spirit of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement. Candidates should be intellectually curious and committed to teaching, student and program development, scholarship, and enhancing our connections with practitioners in the field. The selected candidate would contribute to community building among students, faculty, and practitioners.

Earned doctorate in Student Affairs, Higher Education or related field required.           

Five years of professional experience in student affairs / higher education and at least one year teaching in a college environment.           

Candidates with experience working with diverse populations; knowledge appropriate to the student affairs graduate program curriculum; and research methodologies will be preferred. It is further desired that the successful candidate demonstrates potential for scholarship and may have an established and active record of scholarship and publication. Experience teaching courses comparable to the following is also desired: Values, Philosophy, and History of Student Affairs; Research in Student Affairs; Assessment in Student Affairs; Higher Education Law; and supervision of internship.
