Assistant/Associate Professor #604603

The Physical Therapy Program at Northern Arizona University is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor to contribute to research, student-related activities, and service in the program on the Phoenix Biomedical Campus (PBC). Qualified individuals must hold an academic doctorate degree in rehabilitation science, aging, exercise physiology, health disparities or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education. Successful candidates must also have the potential for, or prior experience in research development, implementation and dissemination. Preference will be given to applicants with an established research agenda, a record of peer-reviewed publications, and experience with grant writing. Preference will also be given to those with clinical and/or clinical research experience in cardiopulmonary therapeutics, neurotherapeutics, aging, motor control, motor learning, or research methods; individuals who are eligible for physical therapy licensure in the state of Arizona, have prior teaching experience at the university level, post-doctoral experience, and a demonstrated commitment to work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds. Minimum Qualifications:

For the rank of Assistant Professor:

  • Academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, DSc) in rehabilitation science, aging, exercise physiology, health disparities or a related field from an accredited institution;
  • The potential for, or prior experience in the development, implementation, and dissemination of research projects.

For the rank of Associate Professor:

  • Each of the stated requirements for the rank of Assistant Professor, prior rank of associate professor at a similar institution, AND
  • An established research agenda with a record of peer-reviewed publications and extramural funding.
