The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks an innovative and inspiring leader in business education to serve as Dean of the Paul Merage School of Business.

The next Dean will lead a school that has experienced highly successful growth in scope, scale, and recognition. Student demand for a Merage education continues to rise, and the School’s faculty remain at the forefront of innovative, high-impact research. The Dean can leverage interdisciplinary opportunities throughout UCI’s strong suite of academic offerings and partner with thought leaders across the world’s premier public university system. The Merage School enjoys the added benefit of Orange County’s vibrant economy, buoyed by a highly educated workforce, booming business scene, and attractive climate and geographic location. At the core of the University is inclusive excellence, and the Dean will lead a School with an exceptionally diverse student body, one in which nearly half of its undergraduates are the first in their family to attend or graduate college.

The Merage School offers two undergraduate majors, three MBA programs, six specialized master’s programs, and a PhD program in management. The school enrolls approximately 1,000 undergraduates, more than 900 master’s and MBA students, and 60 PhD students. It has roughly 100 faculty members, including nearly 50 tenured or tenure-track faculty, and 150 staff members who help drive the school’s widely regarded research, teaching, and service. At 50 percent gender parity, the Merage School leads all business schools worldwide in the percentage of women on its faculty.

UCI enrolls 30,000 undergraduates and 7,100 graduate students. It employs more than 1,300 faculty and approximately 11,000 staff members. Founded as an interdisciplinary campus, it boasts academic excellence across its physical, biological and social sciences; engineering, arts, and humanities core; and in its professional schools. In U.S. News & World Report’s 2020 “Best Colleges” survey, UCI ranks ninth among all public universities and 36th out of 1,600 universities evaluated nationwide.
