Baylor University seeks a transformational and dynamic leader as Dean of Hankamer School of Business who will guide the School in pursuit of its mission to cultivate principled leaders and serve the global marketplace through transformational learning and impactful scholarship in a culture of innovation guided by Christian values.
A nationally ranked research institution located in Waco, Texas, Baylor University welcomes students from all 50 states and more than 80 countries to study a broad range of degrees among its 12 nationally recognized academic divisions. Baylor’s nationally recognized academic units offer 129 undergraduate, 75 masters, and 41 doctoral degree programs. Reporting to the Provost and Chief Academic Officer of Baylor University, the Dean of Hankamer School of Business will inherit a financially strong School that is well-positioned for continued progress. Comprising 25 percent of the University’s students, the School plays an important role in the Baylor community and produces a significant number of high-profile alumni. The Dean of the Hankamer School of Business will have overall responsibility for defining the School’s strategic priorities, securing resources to fulfill those priorities, and empowering the staff and senior leaders to accomplish these goals. Following Baylor’s strategic plan, Illuminate, the Dean will lead the School of Business in the University's pursuit of Research 1/Tier 1 recognition.
The Dean of Hankamer must be a dynamic Christian leader who understands the centrality of integrating faith and learning with leadership. An ideal candidate for role has demonstrated appreciation for academic excellence across all disciplines within the School of Business as well as the ability to engage with stakeholders as the external face of the School. The ability to collaborate within and outside the University to ensure that Hankamer contributes to and strengthens Baylor in the long term will also be extremely important. The next Dean must have a leadership style that fosters cooperation, consensus building, and collaborative decision-making appropriate to the interdisciplinary faculty and the diverse staff and student body within the Hankamer School of Business and across Baylor University.
