Assistant Director, Alumni Relations Alumni Engagement

As a member of the Alumni Association team reporting to the Director, Alumni Engagement, the Assistant Director, Alumni Engagement is part of the team responsible for college relations designed to strengthen alumni connections to Miami University.

Serve as Miami University Alumni Association (MUAA) liaison to assigned colleges, coordinating with University Advancement and Academic Affairs to support alumni engagement at the college level. Foster collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, and constituents; actively seek opportunities to respond to emerging needs. May also serve as liaison to programs, centers or other campus offices.

In conjunction with the Associate Director, Alumni Engagement, helps manage relationships to advance joint priorities and interests of MUAA and assigned college units. Help establish alumni engagement goals. Collaborate to engage alumni, promote the college, and highlight alumni accomplishments.

Work with University Advancement colleagues and college leadership to build a pipeline for alumni engagement that supports programming and initiatives, develops generational leaders, increases data integrity and enhances philanthropic support.

In partnership with the University Advancement Communications, Marketing, Events & IT team, and in coordination with academic offices, develop and implement a strategy for assigned colleges. This may include website or social media content, emails, e-newsletters, surveys, special events, printed materials and other forms of outreach. Ensure accuracy of alumni data and encourage proper use of such data by colleagues in assigned colleges.

Track metrics and data points to make strategic business decisions, determine effectiveness of programs, and to discover and cultivate opportunities for programmatic collaboration; produce reports and recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. One to three years of work experience. Organized and task-oriented with demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills. Must possess ability to manage several projects simultaneously. Ability to work collaboratively, proactively and positively. Strong communication skills with excellent written and verbal skills. Strong understanding of and commitment to customer service. Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of Miami University. Experience in alumni relations, non-profit or higher education setting. Experience in volunteer management.
