Assistant Professor Of Public Administration

The School of Public Administration at the University of New Mexico invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Public Administration appointment to begin in Fall, 2020. This is a full-time, tenure-track position with specialization in Public Administrative Organization and Development. Applicants must have a PhD in Public Administration or a related field at the time of hire. For best consideration, all application materials must be received by Friday November 22, 2019.

Applications must demonstrate evidence of educational excellence and leadership potential. The new faculty member will teach graduate courses in Institutional Development and Behavior and Introduction to Research Methods, supervise masters students, and contribute to core, required graduate courses.
 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. from a nationally accredited university in Public Administration or closely related social science discipline, e.g. Public Affairs, Public Policy, Political Science, at the time of hire.
  • Evidence of specialization in Public Administrative Organization and Development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in or significant potential for cutting-edge research, peer-reviewed publication, and university teaching as evidenced through the submitted CV or letters of recommendation in one of the following areas: Public Organization Theory, Behavior, and Development or Public Administrative Management and Analysis.
  • A demonstrated ability to teach in Health Services Management or Introductory Public Administration Research as a secondary field.
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
