Applications are invited for a full-time Instructor position, non-tenure track in management (position #121970), starting August 2020 subject to funding availability. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible primarily for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Human Resources Management, Compensation and Benefits, Recruitment, Performance Management, Change Management and Leadership, Management of Diversity, and Organizational Behavior. Additional teaching assignments may include courses in general management.

 

The minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior or a closely related discipline with at least 18 hours of course work in Human Resources from an AACSB accredited institution. Candidates must be able to teach in face-to-face and online formats, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

Preferred candidates will have a Ph.D. or DBA in Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior or a closely related discipline from an AACSB accredited institution at the time of appointment. ABD candidates must provide strong evidence that their doctoral degree will be completed prior to August 2020 to be considered in the preferred category. Relevant teaching experience, including proven effectiveness in online course development and teaching, with evidence of teaching excellence is strongly preferred. Experience with utilizing high impact practices and assessment of learning goals is desired. Professional experience in relevant fields is considered a strong asset.

 

 A normal teaching load is four courses per semester. This position may require teaching at other campuses of the university as part of degree-granting or corporate partnership training programs. Opportunities for summer teaching may be available. In addition to teaching, successful candidates will be required to perform academic and career counseling, serve on departmental, college and university committees, and participate in assessment activities.

 

The College of Business is AACSB accredited with over 1800 students enrolled in eleven undergraduate majors and two masters programs. The main campus of The University of West Florida is located in Pensacola, the crown jewel of Florida’s beautiful Emerald Coast, known worldwide for its pristine white-sand beaches.
