Radford University invites applications for the College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences (CHBS, College) Dean carrying administrative responsibility for the operation of the College and reporting directly to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. The new Dean will be overseeing both the undergraduate and graduate programs of one school, eight departments and five interdisciplinary minors; supervising chairs and directors of academic departments/schools; and advancing ongoing curricular development and assessment of the College’s programs.

Radford University is a comprehensive public institution of approximately 10,500 students that has received national recognition for many of its undergraduate and graduate academic programs, as well as its sustainability initiatives. Radford University serves the Commonwealth of Virginia and the nation through a wide range of academic, cultural, human service and research programs. The College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences is composed of the School of Communication, eight academic departments, Army ROTC and five interdisciplinary minors that highlight the humanities and human behavior. A strong international studies and global perspective is found in all departments. Working with faculty across the University, every department engages students to develop an understanding of global social and cultural issues and to inspire each student to become an active participant in society. The College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences also offers 20 minor programs designed to prepare students both as thinking and involved citizens and as highly trained professionals.
