Director, Career Studio

Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Director for Career Studio in Student Life Services. The Director provides leadership, coordination, analysis, and technical expertise for programming for career education, internships, and employer relations. The Director serves as the primary contact for the department in addition to providing direction to staff in the department.  The Director has oversight for the management of the day-to-day operations of the Career Studio, its long-term goals, and its strategic plan in keeping with the missions, visions, and goals of the university, the student services division, and the department.  The Director works to implement best practices, including trending topics related to career education and employer relations.  In addition, the Director develops collaborations with faculty, other campus partners, and career professionals to advance the educational experiences of students who visit the Career Studio.  The Director supervises employees within the office.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years of related professional experience, OR Master's Degree and two (2) years of related professional experience.
Related Experience: student services, recruiting, career education/development and development, human development, and higher education administration or related field; one year of supervisory experience.

Department Information
The Career Studio provides a space on campus for students to explore their curiosities about career paths and professional goals.  In this innovative environment, students have access to a tech-forward, multi-platform presence and inventive programming.  The Career Studio offers student-centered, peer-to-peer coaching that empowers the students to gain experience through extracurricular engagement, professional internships, and networking with employers.  The Career Studio also relies on collaborations with employers, alumni, and the community to support students in the development and implementation of programming.  Through engagement in the programs, Nevada students actively develop career paths to help them meet their post-baccalaureate goals, along with the professional skills needed to take advantage of opportunities within the global economy.
