Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in Health Care Administration

The Master of Health Administration (MHA) Program at the David Eccles School of Business of the University of Utah (eccles.utah.edu/) seeks to fill a faculty position for an assistant or associate professor (lecturer and non-tenure track) faculty position with a multiple year contract that combines teaching and research. Preferred candidates will hold a doctoral degree in healthcare economics or an appropriate area related to healthcare administration. Work experience in healthcare administration is a plus.
Candidates with research and teaching expertise in healthcare economics, quality improvement, operations management, and/or data analytics are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching, research and mentoring students. Candidates with practical work experience in healthcare will be preferred.

The MHA Program faculty include tenure track and non-tenure track as well as adjunct faculty. This group of scholars has high level healthcare administration and educational administration experience. Our faculty have earned prestigious awards in recognition of their exceptional teaching, outstanding service, and commitment to healthcare administration. This group of faculty supports an active student association, a growing alumni association, a mentor program, and participation by student teams in multiple regional and national healthcare case competitions.

The MHA Program is growing and has expanded its offerings to include a Professional MHA degree and other program expansions are now being considered. To meet the needs of the expanding programs, the Eccles School is seeking a full-time faculty member to begin in 2020. Primary responsibilities will be teaching, research and mentoring in the MHA programs.

The Eccles School is AACSB accredited and ranked highly in U.S. News and World Reports. The MHA program, accredited by CAHME, is a twelve-year old program with significant growth potential.
