The Division of Corporate Communication and Public Affairs seeks candidates for position in Organizational Communication to research and teach in the Division’s undergraduate degree programs beginning Fall 2020. Ideal candidates will have an established background in one or more of the following sub-areas of Organizational Communication: Non-Profit and Social Innovation; Management and Leadership; Work/Life Balance; or Team Work with experience in teaching quantitative or mixed methods research. Professional experience in corporate, non-profit, or consulting is a plus.  Ph.D. required. In addition to teaching, other responsibilities include advising, committee assignments, and participating in professional advisory board activities.  

Southern Methodist University is a private liberal arts university, founded in 1911, and located in the heart of metropolitan Dallas, Texas. SMU is home to the Bush Library and Institute, which opened in April 2013. The Division is a highly competitive undergraduate program serving 140+ students in the Meadows School of the Arts. Undergraduate students are provided with a thorough understanding of the theory and applied skills of the communication field.  The program prepares students for graduate scholarship and to work as communication professionals in corporations, non-profit organizations, agencies, political campaigns, government, and cultural and educational institutions.  The Division also offers experiential-learning classes in London, New York, Washington D.C., and Taos, as well as robust faculty relationships and student internships with the Bush Library and Institute.
