The University of Dayton (UD) seeks a collaborative, inclusive, equity-minded, and forward-looking academic leader to serve as the Dean of the School of Education and Health Sciences. UD enrolls 11,300 students, including 8,225 full-time undergraduates, and is one of the nation’s largest Catholic universities and the largest private university in Ohio. Embedded in the dynamic city of Dayton, OH, and grounded in its Catholic, Marianist tradition, UD provides education to develop the whole student and is committed to experiential learning.
SEHS is in the midst of dynamic growth as it charts a path towards even greater impact through its remarkably diverse disciplinary and programmatic offerings. SEHS is currently organized in six academic departments that include Counselor Education and Human Services, Educational Administration, Health and Sport Science, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Education, and Teacher Education. Several new programs launched in fall 2019, including the innovative Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in partnership with Sinclair Community College, a Master’s in Dietetics and Nutrition, as well as two hybrid online programs, the Ed.D. in Leadership for Organizations and a Master’s in Applied Behavioral Analysis. SEHS also houses several programs ranging from the Urban Teacher Academy that supports undergraduate students interested in working in urban school districts to the Lalanne program that, in partnership with the Center for Catholic Education, supports early career Catholic school educators.
SEHS is home to 69 full-time faculty members, 78 part-time faculty members, 76 staff members and serves 2,041 students, including 1,040 full-time undergraduates. The School’s operational budget is $18.8 million.

The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate in education or health sciences with qualifications that merit the rank of full professor with tenure at the University of Dayton.
