Position Description:
UCLA Advancement Services is an internal service group that coordinates and performs vital administrative, financial and technology services to all External Affairs departments, which encompass Development, Alumni Affairs and Government & Community Relations. Advancement Services facilitates and supports the broad range of its customers' activities through a variety of value-added services, including business analysis and process improvement. This department is a key partner in major initiatives across External Affairs and is the custodian of UCLA's million-entity advancement database.

The Executive Director of Advancement Data and Project Management will provide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of staff and operations for four essential Advancement Services areas - Application Development, Project Management, Information Services and Gift Services. The Executive Director will play a critical role in creating and sustaining a customer-service oriented and constituent-centric Advancement Services operation by collaborating with diverse and talented team members to help solve multidimensional data analytics and information technology problems, improve customer experience, and generate value for stakeholders across a broad base of units and constituencies. The Executive Director will establish a vision for data management and technology infrastructure and delivery that will align with External Affairs' diverse strategic initiatives and evolving business needs. This individual will be charged with positioning advancement support functions, policies and procedures, and technology infrastructure with the strategies, resources and priorities of External Affairs. The Executive Director will also be responsible for anticipating changes in technology and ensuring that the all four core teams have the knowledge and resources to meet the current and future needs of External Affairs.
