The University of Notre Dame's Department of Film, Television, and Theatre is seeking a tenure-track professor in screenwriting. Additional areas of specialization might include producing, directing, editing, and cinematography. We expect to hire at the rank of Assistant Professor.

The successful candidate must have anMFA in Screenwriting, or anMFA in Film/Television Production. Teaching experience preferred.

We particularly welcome applicants who will contribute to the department's commitment to diversity and global perspectives, as well as the department's integration of production and critical studies.

The closing date for applications is November 1, 2019 when the committee will begin reviewing applications. The appointment begins Tuesday, August 28, 2020. The University is on the semester system.

The Department of Film, Television, and Theatre (see: http://ftt.nd.edu/) is a dynamic department with twenty-two regular faculty. Our liberal arts curriculum presents a broad exposure to screen cultures as an intellectual endeavor as well as an aesthetic and practical one, and offers courses that appeal to a wide range of students, including non- majors. Our student films have won prizes at significant festivals and the best of this work is exhibited at our annual student film festival in Los Angeles.

The Department resides in the Marie P. DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, dedicated in 2004 (see http://performingarts.nd.edu/).
