Butler University invites nominations and applications for the position of dean of the College of Education. The next dean will have an extraordinary opportunity to shape the strategic direction of a college that is known for preparing strong educators, counselors, principals and community leaders.  

Butler University is a top-ranked university located in Indianapolis, Indiana and serves nearly 4,900 undergraduate students across more than 65 major academic fields of study and more than 600 graduate students in its 18 master's degree programs and Doctor of Pharmacy program. Butler's mission is to provide the highest quality of liberal and professional education and to integrate the liberal arts with professional education, by creating and fostering a stimulating intellectual community built upon interactive dialogue and inquiry among students, faculty and staff.

The College of Education enrolls more than 260 undergraduate students and over 180 students seeking graduate degrees and certificates. The college has 20 tenure/tenure-track faculty; seven adjuncts, lecturers and instructors; and nine staff.

Butler University seeks a dean with a commitment to advancing the mission of the College of Education and an individual who embodies its core values. The next dean will work with college stakeholders to develop a strategic plan that is aligned with the goals of the university; build and refine academic program offerings; recruit, retain and support an outstanding faculty; foster external relationships and partnerships; and effectively manage and grow the college's resources.
