Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Mechanical Engineering, beginning August 1, 2020. The successful candidate will teach Control Systems, as well as other core courses (Engineering Method, Engineering Calculations) and courses in their area of specialization. We are particularly interested in applicants in the area of robotics, automation, and process control areas, especially those who will advance initiatives in community-engaged or service learning, undergraduate research and other inquiry-based learning, and global and diversity learning. Candidates will have opportunities to contribute to an interdisciplinary general education program and other interdisciplinary majors and minors. Ph.D. is required, but ABDs within one year of degree completion will be considered. Applicants must demonstrate a potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring, as well as a commitment to scholarship that includes collaborative research with undergraduates.
