Within the Enrollment Management unit reporting to the Director of Academic Advisement, the Transfer Credit Specialist will primarily be responsible for processing transfer credits for incoming undergraduate degree students. The successful candidate will ensure that official transfer credit is accurately recorded in the student information system in a timeframe that supports student success. In collaboration with Academic Affairs and Academic Advisement, s/he will configure and maintain transfer equivalency rules for courses, examinations, and professional credentials. As a member of the Enrollment Management team, the Enrollment Systems Specialist will provide assistance with enrollment-related and school-wide events.

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Implement business practices and workflows to improve the transfer credit process
• Work collaboratively with Academic Affairs and Academic Advisement to build and maintain a database of transfer equivalencies
• Work with queries in the student information system and build transfer rules which serve as the foundation for credit evaluations
• Obtain course descriptions, catalogs, and institutional information to support the review of unevaluated courses
• Maintain current transfer equivalencies for professional credentials and exams on the School’s website
• Maintain current knowledge of academic policies and curricula
• Stay informed of new system functionality and make recommendations to enhance utilization
 
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required. The preferred candidate will have:
• Experience evaluating academic transcripts for purpose of awarding transfer credit
• Familiarity with transfer curriculum issues and practices
• Knowledge of credit for prior learning assessment
• Proven ability to work under pressure with an extremely high degree of accuracy
• Demonstrated experience using technology to increase operational efficiency
• Proven knowledge of the enrollment cycle and related processes in higher education
• Proficiency in PeopleSoft Oracle based systems such as CUNYfirst
• Strong written communication with extreme attention to detail
• A high level or organization and ability to work efficiently and independently on multiple tasks
• Willingness to work evening hours and weekends as necessary
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, across departments, in a team-oriented environment

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
- Administers enrollment processes and related functions.
- Collaborates with management team in the development of admission and enrollment goals, strategies, and initiatives; participates in planning enrollment events.
- Analyzes and interprets quantitative and qualitative student enrollment data to prepare reports for management.
- Recommends and implements improvements to existing technical systems and office operations.
- Serves as resource reference to interpret and comply with University and College enrollment policies.
- Prepares and reviews student communication materials.
- May coordinate aspects of student entry from point of allocation to include orientation, advisement, and collection of admitted student documents.
- May supervise office operations and/or department budget
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary commensurate with education and experience up to $65,817.
