Assistant/Associate Professor - Leadership

Responsible for development, implementation and evaluation of statewide programs in leadership development for external clientele, including the LeadAR and other educational programs. Collaborates with others to determine content, priorities and emphasis for leadership development programming. Supports planning activities with leaders and clientele groups, extension faculty, advisory councils, leadership program alumni groups and other stakeholders. Identifies areas in leadership that could be impacted by Extension programming efforts for the benefit of the citizens of Arkansas.

Responsible for leadership development education for Division of Agriculture employees working at the state and local levels. Conducts and supports educational activities using direct and/or indirect contact methods to teach or assist extension personnel. Responds to internal requests in a timely manner. Provides research updates to state and county faculty as appropriate.

Locates, adapts and/or develops curricula and related support materials for and in partnership with Division of Agriculture state and county faculty use with youth, collegiate and adult audiences. Delivers programs upon request throughout the state. Seeks feedback and input from state faculty and agents on client needs and curricular content. Evaluates program outcomes and/or impacts in concert with agents whenever possible.

Cultivates and solicits extramural funding to develop and sustain leadership education programs. Participates in grant-funded projects led by colleagues as appropriate. Manages related accounts, grants, gifts, and resources in compliance with policy guidelines.

Required:  An earned Doctorate in Leadership Development, Community Development, Adult Education, or related field is required. Must be knowledgeable about community development, the political process, and agricultural, rural and urban issues in Arkansas. Must have a strong understanding of the adult learning process. Must have experience in fund development to support programs. Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally.

Preferred: Three or more years of experience in program management, adult education, leadership development, community development, public relations, and fund development is preferred.
