Multiple Positions for Assistant, Associate or Full Professors

The Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) Department at Iowa State University (ISU) seeks candidates for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant, associate, or full professor level in the areas of construction engineering, environmental/water resources engineering, structural engineering, and transportation engineering, as well as a teaching professor position in construction engineering. The successful tenure-track candidates are envisioned to establish, sustain and grow a world-class, externally funded research program that complements or aligns with the current research and education efforts in the CCEE Department through interdisciplinary collaboration. They will teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, advise both graduate and undergraduate students, generate a scholarly publication record, and participate in technical committees and outreach activities.  Candidates should have strong communication skills, share our commitment to enhancing excellence through diversity and inclusion and exhibit the potential for long term leadership in supporting the mission of the department, college and university.

The teaching professor position will be responsible for coordinating and teaching undergraduate portions of the general professional elements of the construction engineering program.  The position is a unique opportunity to incorporate engineering management and design instruction in the construction engineering curriculum. 

About the Department
The CCEE Department offers B.S. degree programs in civil engineering, civil engineering with environmental emphasis, and construction engineering plus M.S., MEng, and Ph.D. graduate degree programs in civil engineering and maintains externally funded research of approximately $17 million annually. The department employs 48 faculty members. CCEE is committed to diversity among faculty, staff and students who can enrich University objectives in the areas of research, teaching and service. Civil Engineering and Construction Engineering undergraduate programs have over 700 and 300 students respectively. Our graduate program has approximately 200 students.

Research collaboration opportunities are encouraged through Iowa State’s Institute for Transportation (InTrans), (www.intrans.iastate.edu). InTrans ranks seventh among the top university‐based transportation research organizations in the United States with more than $20 million in annual expenditures from a variety of funding sources. InTranss faculty, researchers, and outreach professionals perform research, technology transfer, and education for public and private organizations, manage an academic‐enrichment program for graduate students, provide local, regional, and national outreach and continuing education services, and deliver regional and national conferences. Additional research collaboration opportunities are encouraged through the Iowa Nutrient Research Center, Iowa Energy Center, Iowa Water Center and Bioeconomy Institute, as well as numerous other institutes, centers, and departments that exist on campus.
