The UCLA Samueli School of Engineering is currently seeking an innovative candidate for the position of Director of Development to deliver on the promise of excellence in engineering education, research and service by increasing engagement and philanthropic support. The Director will drive the School's mission by securing major gifts from individuals, alumni and other entities. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Development for the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering, the Director will identify, solicit and steward donors and other constituents in support of the school's mission and strategic plan. Independently, and in coordination with other members of the School's development leadership, this position will develop and execute strategies and annual operating plans. The Director will manage a portfolio of prospects and donors and will understand a variety of gift vehicles including planned, capital, and blended as part of their major/principal gift work.

This individual will work closely and collaboratively with a wide variety of internal and external constituents across the School, University and beyond to expand involvement and overall propensity to give. To build relationships with alumni and parents, the Director will travel on cultivation and solicitation visits to various regions, both independently and to staff School leadership and faculty. This individual will serve as a liaison between External Affairs and School departments, meeting with faculty to gain knowledge of research and funding needs. The Director will recruit and develop the Dean's Executive Boards, and will have experience in volunteer board or advisory committee management.
