Financial Systems Manager

Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The Financial Systems Manager leads and manages the Financial System team. The position grants security access and plans, designs, examines, analyzes, tests, develops, implements, administers, and monitors business and program processes and systems in Finance. This position also serves as the lead support for financial systems including campus credit card processing systems and PCI compliance.

N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position

In-depth knowledge of financial system processes, reporting tools, and process re-engineering techniques to successfully evaluate functionality, improve, implement and adapt financial system processes for operational units and campus system users

Technical knowledge of financial systems and how those systems interact with each other

Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, auditing and systems theories, practices, and methods

Ability to set and meet project design time tables based on user expectations, policies and guidelines

Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, flow charts, and other written communications in connection with systems work

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate effectively in oral and written form

Supervisory experience

Preferred education, professional skills and experience

Experience working with the following systems: Jaggaer, Chrome River, Banner Finance, Banner Student Accounts, eVisions, ImageNow, e-Print, TouchNet, and SSRS

Understanding and experience with PCI compliance

Experience working with integrated accounting and ERP systems

Understanding of disbursement, procurement processes and student accounts processes
