The University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites nominations, inquiries, and applications for the position of Dean of the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. The Dean is the chief academic and administrative officer of the College and will lead the strategic, programmatic, financial, fundraising, and management operations that support the mission and vision of the College. The Dean serves as the public voice, developing the reputation of the college on the national and international stages, and within the profession. The College of Journalism and Mass Communications is an inclusive community of faculty and staff committed to providing a top-quality hands-on education to emerging professionals in advertising, broadcasting, journalism, public relations and sports media and communications. Programs in the college have been nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications since 1972. It offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programs to approximately 1,100 undergraduate and 75 graduate students. The college has 35 full-time faculty members plus a large number of highly qualified part-time faculty from industry.
