The Department of Statistics and Data Science at UCF seeks to hire two nine­month, tenure-track Assistant Professors of Statistics anticipated to begin in August 2020.  The successful candidates will contribute to teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs and are expected to develop an externally funded, nationally competitive research program in big data analytics.  A competitive startup package is available.  The Department of Statistics and Data Science at UCF currently offers a B.S. in Statistics, a B.S. in Actuarial Science, an M.S. in Statistical Computing with a track in Data Mining and a Ph.D. in Big Data Analytics.

A Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution by the start of hire is required.  All but dissertation (ABD) will be considered as long as the doctorate is completed by the date of hire.  Preference will be given to those with teaching experience in data mining and big data analytics, statistical machine learning, or a willingness to teach courses in these areas.
