BIOLOGY DEPARTMENT INSTRUCTIONAL FACULTY

The Department of Biology at the University of Tampa invites applications for a full-time instructional faculty position beginning in August 2020. This is a continuing non-tenure track position with opportunities for promotion.

 

The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially based private institution of 9,200 undergraduate and graduate students. The University is ideally situated on a beautiful 110-acre campus next to the Hillsborough River, adjacent to Tampa’s dynamic central business district, which is a growing, vibrant, diverse metropolitan area. The position will have primary teaching responsibilities in Introductory Biology for science majors (e.g., General Biology I and II lecture and lab), and non-science major lecture courses (Biology and/or Microbiology) as assigned by the department chair.

 

The position is primarily for teaching within the Biology Department along with University and Departmental service responsibilities. The candidate will be expected to teach 27 contact hours throughout the Fall and Spring semesters. 

 

PhD preferred (strong ABD candidates considered) and prior teaching experience with undergraduates is desirable.  A personal commitment to quality undergraduate teaching, advising, and service to the Department and University is essential.
