Assistant Professor of Accounting

About the position: The College of Business at The University of Alabama in Huntsville invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Accounting position. We seek applicants who welcome the challenges and rewards of serving on an intellectually curious faculty of a growing college located in a dynamic and supportive high technology community. This tenure-track appointment starts in the fall term of 2020.

Responsibilities: Conduct and publish high quality scholarly research in a collegial environment in which both intra- and inter-disciplinary collaborations are valued. Teach courses in graduate and undergraduate programs as needed by the college. Participate actively in the profession, university service and outreach to the region’s businesses, governments, and military operations.

Qualifications: A PhD in Accounting or related field from an AACSB accredited school is required, and specialization in financial accounting is preferred.  The successful candidate will have a strong academic background, be able to conduct research that is publishable in high quality journals, and have a commitment to excellence in graduate and undergraduate education. ABD candidates will be considered, but the doctorate must be completed by the start of the 2020 academic year. We enjoy AACSB-competitive salaries.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE: The College of Business is accredited by AACSB International and has approximately 32 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 35 research and part-time faculty, 1,000 undergraduates and over 400 graduate students. It offers a BSBA degree with majors in management, marketing, information systems, accounting, and finance; a BS in Economics and Computational Analysis degree; and seven graduate degrees: an MBA, and specialized masters' degrees in Accounting, Business Analytics, Cybersecurity, Human Resource Management, Information Systems, and Supply Chain and Logistics Management.
