Vice President for Enrollment Management

Radford University seeks an accomplished and visionary strategist and leader to serve in the critically important role of vice president for enrollment management (VPEM). The vice president for enrollment management reports directly to the university president, Brian O. Hemphill, Ph.D., and will provide forward-thinking leadership for a far-reaching enrollment management strategy that is aggressive, innovative and data-informed.

Radford University is a comprehensive public university that empowers students from diverse backgrounds by providing transformational educational experiences. More than 9,300 students (approximately 7,900 undergraduates and 1,400 graduate students) benefit from an inclusive community with outstanding undergraduate and graduate academic programs and sustainability initiatives. Well known for its strong faculty/student bonds, innovative use of technology in the learning environment and vibrant student life on a beautiful 204-acre American classical campus, Radford University believes in the dynamics of change in order to meet society's evolving needs.

In 2018, as a result of a long-term partnership with Carilion Clinic, Radford University announced a merger with Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, which had an enrollment of about 1,150 students. Jefferson College of Health Sciences is one of the top producers of nursing and allied health professionals in the region and is in the top 10 in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This exciting development grew from the belief that together, the two institutions could enhance the quality of healthcare education and research in the region. Upon the merger's completion in summer 2019, Jefferson College of Health Sciences will become Radford University Carilion (RUC) and will be able to more effectively meet the growing need for healthcare professionals in Virginia and beyond.

Programmatic investments have enabled Radford to step forward as a preeminent provider of health services and healthcare and human services education and fortify its status as a trailblazer in addressing areas of need in cybersecurity, education and geospatial intelligence. Additionally, Radford's Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) program, the online Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) program and the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) program are recognized in U.S. News and World Report's best graduate school rankings.

As the university's chief enrollment officer, the VPEM is in a critical position to shape Radford's future. Serving on the president's cabinet and working in collaboration with the university's leadership team, deans and other campus partners, the VPEM will develop a bold, creative and broad plan that embraces the best use of data and technology to communicate institutional distinctiveness and positions Radford for increased growth and diversity.

The successful candidate will be a transformational leader with the ability to establish new and innovative means to grow enrollment, enhance access by leveraging scholarships and aid, harness data and technology to maximum benefit and inspire colleagues across the institution to collaborate to achieve the university's aspirations. The VPEM will be a team player with the highest integrity, strong communication abilities and well-developed strategic and collaboration skills. The next leader will have a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion and a proven record of advancing the diversity goals of an institution. Experience in admissions, financial aid and other critical enrollment management functions is essential as is exceptional analytical capacity, marketing prowess, technological sophistication and an understanding of today's competitive enrollment environment. A bachelor's degree is required; candidates with an earned advanced or terminal degree will have an advantage.
