Assistant/Associate Dean of Engagement, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Reporting to the Dean of Studies and Student Life, this collaborative leader forges and sustains important partnerships among campus areas to promote community engagement and student involvement, and inclusion and diversity initiatives. Assistant/Associate Dean will supervise all student involvement and leadership functions, and will foster dialogue and intersection among students to generate coalitions, consensus, and positive outcomes. Qualifications of candidates will include a required bachelor’s degree required (master’s degree preferred) with at least 7 years of experience, keen social and political acumen, demonstrated ability to set priorities, analyze data, and to think systematically from both a detailed and a strategic perspective, excellent written and oral communication skills, competence to work directly with, and on behalf of, diverse students, faculty, and staff, to advance values and goals associated with equity, diversity, and inclusion; and the ability to work in a complex, matrix organizational structure. Assistant Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

This position works in partnership with the Assistant/Associate Dean, Engagement and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in the implementation and management of comprehensive programming and student organization advisement to foster a diverse and inclusive environment on campus. The Assistant Director works in a highly collaborative manner to facilitate intersection among all students and student groups to promote intercultural understanding. Qualifications of the position will include a required bachelor’s degree (a master’s degree in higher education, college personnel administration or related field preferred), strong organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to multi-task, good oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-departmental teams.
