Assistant Professor of Accounting

The Maine Business School at the University of Maine invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Accounting, with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2019. The Maine Business School (umaine.edu/business) is an AACSB Accredited institution offering both BS and MBA degrees. The Undergraduate School of Business hosts four majors (Accounting, Finance, Management, and Marketing) and three concentrations (Management Information Systems, International Business, and Entrepreneurship), as well as several minors. The Graduate School of Business offers both an evening MBA and an online MBA, as well as several concentrations and dual-degree options. The School currently has 30 full-time faculty members and enrolls approximately 1,200 undergraduate and 100 graduate students.

Candidates are required to have a PhD in Accounting (or its equivalent) from an AACSB-accredited program or be ABD able to complete doctorate by hire date. Further, candidates should demonstrate evidence of or potential for quality teaching and peer-reviewed scholarship. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Tax, and in financial or managerial accounting. Professional certification and relevant professional experience are a plus and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
