Chief Diversity Officer

Kennesaw State University (KSU), the third-largest university in the state of Georgia located in the greater metro Atlanta area, has retained Witt/Kieffer to aid in the recruitment of their Chief Diversity Officer (CDO).

KSU, a member of the University System of Georgia, is one of the 50 largest public institutions in the country, with 13 colleges on two metro Atlanta campuses offering more than 150 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees.  While most of the more than 36,000 students are from the state of Georgia, the diverse student body also represents much of the United States and nearly 100 countries.  With a central mission of offering high-quality academic programs and providing each student with a clear and timely academic pathway that leads to graduation, KSU's faculty and staff are committed to the success of KSU and its students through transformational learning, an inclusive culture and institutional excellence.

Reporting to the University President with strong dotted line reporting relationships to the Provost’s Office, Student Affairs, and Human Resources, the CDO serves as the primary advisor on matters related to inclusion, diversity and equity.  As the executive leader for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the CDO will oversee the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and lead the development and implementation of diversity and inclusion initiatives to ensure that KSU students, faculty and staff have every opportunity to succeed.  Demonstrating superior communication, facilitation and consultative skills, the CDO will work to ensure KSU is a place where people are engaged in an ongoing dialogue that values differences and the unique contributions of others’ talents, backgrounds, customs and worldviews.  The ability to build strategic coalitions and serve as a connector across organizational and cultural boundaries will be essential.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working in a Diversity/Inclusion role in higher education, or an equivalent combination of demonstrated relevant skills and experience.  A Bachelor's degree is required.
