Assistant/Associate Professor

Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Division of Health Systems Management and Policy at The University of Memphis School of Public Health invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant or Associate Professor position to begin August 2019. This 9-month faculty appointment offers a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, with opportunities for salary enhancement through research incentives and summer salary support. Responsibilities will include teaching, research, scholarly activities, advising, and service.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will conduct research in a collaborative atmosphere, seek extramural grant support, teach and mentor health administration and public health students, and contribute to the further development of the School of Public Health.

Minimum Qualifications:

We seek applications from innovative, motivated, and engaged individuals who are committed to growing our research and scholarship. Candidates must hold a relevant doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, DrPH) in health services research, health administration, or closely related discipline and meet academic requirements for consideration as an Assistant or Associate Professor. We will consider candidates who expect to receive their doctoral degree (ABD) by August 2019 and who otherwise meet the position qualifications. We are particularly interested in applicants who have expertise in teaching healthcare finance or healthcare economics, but applicants with other areas of expertise are strongly encouraged to apply.
