Term-tenure track position in Department of Business with expertise in Accounting

The Department of Business has a unique opening within its highly-acclaimed Accounting Program for a full-time, term-tenure-track faculty member, beginning in August of 2019.

 

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Excellent Teaching and Mentoring of Students: A normal course load is four three-credit courses per semester and the courses that the faculty member will likely teach include: Cost Accounting, Auditing, and Managerial Accounting. Faculty members also serve as academic advisors. Scholarship: Faculty members are active learners in their disciplines and significant contributors to the body of knowledge and best practices in their fields. Institutional Service: Faculty members share their time and insights with the College and the Department through committee service, leading student groups (Accounting Club), and other areas of need.

 

Qualifications: Candidates who apply should have at least 10 years of experience in accounting. An MBA and a CPA are required. A doctoral degree is preferred. The Program: Messiah’s Accounting Program distinguishes itself by preparing students through a unique blend of experiential learning and faith integration. Graduates of Messiah’s Accounting Program can be found at all of the Big Four Accounting firms, and the program has one of the highest rates in Pennsylvania for passage of all four parts of the CPA exam.

 

The Department: Messiah’s ACBSP-accredited Department of Business is the College’s largest department (http://www.messiah.edu/departments/business). Home to seven strong business majors and the International Business Institute (https://www.messiah.edu/info/20548/international_business_institute), the Department provides a very collegial environment in which to teach and to conduct other scholarly work. There are currently 11 full-time faculty members in the department.

Compensation: Salary and rank commensurate with academic credentials and qualifications and experience.
