Northern Arizona University seeks an engaged, collaborative, and innovative leader with a demonstrated commitment to academic excellence and student success as its next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Evidence of collaborative leadership in growing high-impact scholarship is strongly preferred.

Located in Flagstaff, a college mountain town with a population of about 70,000, NAU has seen tremendous growth in its student population and research agenda. Today, NAU serves more than 31,000 students across 20 statewide locations and online. More than 22,000 students attend on the Flagstaff Mountain campus, recognized as the “3rd Best College Town in the U.S.” by the American Institute for Economic Research's 2017 College Destinations Index and the “6th Happiest City in America” by Time.com.

Reporting directly to the President, the successful candidate must demonstrate the following minimum credentials and experience:

 

 

  • Doctorate or terminal degree from a recognized regionally-accredited institution;
  • Three years of senior-level administrative experience in higher education; and
  • A record of teaching and scholarly or creative accomplishments commensurate with a tenured appointment at the rank of Professor in an academic department of the University.
