Vice President for Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness

Texas A&M University invites inquiries, nominations and applications for the position of Vice President for Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness.  The university seeks an accomplished and visionary leader that will lead strategic collaborations that drive organizational effectiveness in support of the university’s mission and vision.

The VPHROE will be the principal steward for the university’s human capital, providing strategic leadership and service to sustain Texas A&M University as an employer of choice and to establish and promote a human resources’ vision and strategy that attracts, develops and supports the talent to advance the university’s mission.  The successful candidate will possess broad human resource knowledge and expertise in strategic, collaborative and consultative services to other organizational leadership, coupled with the technical expertise in key areas of human resources. 

This is an outstanding leadership opportunity with an internationally respected and elite research university.  This role requires an innovative, highly driven executive who is connected and engaged with all staff, yet focused on contemporary human resources delivery. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree, and candidates with an earned advanced or terminal degree will have a decided advantage. The VPHROE will demonstrate the core competencies and personal traits necessary for success including, intelligence, sound judgment, strong problem-solving skills, diplomacy, political savvy, a direct and open communications style, confidence, humility, decisiveness, tolerance for organizational ambiguity, and a sense of humor.
