Associate Director of Stewardship, UCLA Health Sciences Development

As the Associate Director of Stewardship, you will be part of a Stewardship team responsible for designing, implementing and coordinating a comprehensive stewardship system that strengthens donor relationships. Reporting to the Director of Stewardship for Health Sciences Development, you will be a skilled writer responsible for developing a broad range of donor-driven materials about complex science in a style both clear and exciting to any audience. Deadline-focused and able to produce accurate and engaging materials quickly, you will play a key role in managing the daily activities and programs of the department, ensuring timely, smooth, and accurate implementation. You will partner with Directors of Development to determine the best strategies and best practices for effective stewardship and development of new stewardship programs, always looking for ways to improve and innovate stewardship programs. In facilitating appropriate stewardship activities, you will collaborate with a diverse group of internal constituents, which may include faculty, executive staff, directors, alumni relations staff, and donor relations staff. As the Associate Director, you will also serve as the HSD contact for donors who require help with problems, questions, or concerns, giving you an abundance of opportunities to enrich our relationships with our donors.

As an ideal candidate for this role, you will have strong writing and editing skills with a high level of attention to details, facts and deadlines.  You will have the ability to think strategically about donor engagement and enjoy generating creative solutions for stewarding donors to maintain and strengthen high-quality relationships with donors. You will also have three or more years of donor relations, stewardship or development experience with a solid understanding of the principles and practices of philanthropy. You will have excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills and thrive on establishing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external constituents.
