St. Cloud State University (SCSU), the second largest public university in Minnesota invites nominations and applications for an accomplished and transformational leader to serve as the Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management (VPSEM).

A newly formed position, the VPSEM will have the opportunity to join the leadership team of recently inaugurated President Robbyn Wacker, who has brought a tremendous burst of new energy and enthusiasm to the campus. Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management VPSEM will provide visionary leadership for refining and implementing the University’s Strategic Enrollment Plan to achieve and maintain the University’s enrollment goals for new and continuing students, including graduate students and international students. This new leader will guide the development of the newly implemented division of Strategic Enrollment Management promoting a student success centered culture committed to continuous improvement. The new VPSEM will also provide leadership for implementation of the University’s comprehensive rebranding strategy developed this past year and marketing efforts to implement the strategy.

The campus sits on 100 acres between downtown St. Cloud and the Beaver Islands, a group of more than 30 islands that form a natural maze for a two-mile stretch of the Mississippi River. St. Cloud is located one hour northwest from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis–St. Paul and is equal distance to several of Minnesota’s most beautiful lakes recognized for their majestic scenery and abundant outdoor activities. The St. Cloud metropolitan area is 24th on Forbes magazine’s “Best Small Places for Businesses and Careers.” St. Cloud State is ranked in Forbes magazine’s “America’s Top Colleges” and is in the top 1 percent of the most affordable colleges on the list. Student athletes enjoy competing on the men’s and women’s Division I hockey program and on St. Cloud’s 16 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Division II teams, including their two-time national champion Huskies Wrestling.

SCSU has over 14,000 students and offers more than 200 majors, minors and pre-professional programs in eight colleges and schools. Undergraduate programs of note include accounting, mass communications and award-winning broadcast journalism programs, land surveying and mapping sciences, nursing, and meteorology. SCSU also offers education-abroad programs on six continents. There are more than 60 graduate programs, including doctoral degrees in Higher Education Administration and Educational Administration and Leadership, as well as a Master of Business Administration from the acclaimed Herberger Business School.

To provide the leadership required for this position, the Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management should possess a combination of personal qualities and professional experience. He or she should possess a high level of integrity, energy, transparency, a willingness for risk, genuine interest in and support for multi-cultural and international students and an understanding of the importance of building a community. A Master’s degree required, doctoral degree preferred, with a minimum of ten years of senior level experience, providing creative leadership, staff supervision and managerial functions in enrollment management, along with some experience in related fields such as financial aid, admissions, retention, student success, student records, institutional research and assessment, branding and marketing.
