ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF THEATRE HISTORY, DEPARTMENT OF THEATRE, CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY NORTHRIDGE. Mike Curb College of Arts, Media and Communication, Department of Theatre seeks a tenure-track, full-time faculty in history beginning fall 2019. Teach introductory and advanced courses in Theatre History, Dramatic Literature, and Theory/Criticism; World Drama and Performance in general education; graduate seminars in area of specialization. Student advisement and duties on department, college and university committees required.

 For reappointment, promotion, and tenure, emphasis will be on teaching effectiveness, research/scholarly achievement, and service to the University and community. Successful candidate will have opportunities to collaborate in restructuring the M.A. program. Required Qualifications: Ph.D in Theatre/Performance; ABDs encouraged to apply; degree completed by August 21, 2019. Teaching experience at university/college level required. Three years of teaching experience at university/college level, preferred. Demonstrated ability and experience teaching world traditions in theatre history and literature required; experience teaching Latin-American, African, Arabic or Asian theatre and drama, preferred. Strengths or related experience in dramaturgy, performance research, digital histories, applied theatre; research showing an interdisciplinary scope that demonstrates a global perspective, preferred. Application Deadline:  November 30, 2018.
