The Board of Trustees of Barry University (Barry) has begun the search for its next president and invite nominations and applications from persons who will provide exceptional and distinguished leadership. Barry, located in Miami Shores, Florida, is well- positioned to build upon its reputation as an outstanding Catholic University.  Founded in 1940 by the Adrian Dominican Sisters as a college for women, it has evolved into a coeducational, contemporary and comprehensive liberal arts university and a leading center for education in South Florida. The next president is anticipated to begin duties July 1, 2019.

Approximately 3,500 undergraduate and 3,850 graduate and professional men and women comprise Barry’s student body.  They chose Barry because it offers: quality academics combined with hands-on career preparation; outstanding programs in arts and sciences, business, communication, education, graduate medical sciences , human performance and leisure sciences, law (i.e.-JD), natural and health sciences, nursing, psychology, social work, and theology; a personal and purposeful approach to learning; a diverse community of scholars dedicated to teaching; and a student body and faculty enriched by diversity of belief and interfaith dialogue. With a student-faculty ratio of 13 to 1, Barry offers students a personalized education and experiential opportunities in Podiatric Clinics, Primary Care Nursing Centers, a Family Enrichment Center, the Academy for Better Communities, and through service opportunities. Degrees conferred include BA, MA, JD, DPM, PhD in Research & Scholarship and Professional Practice and Specialist Degrees.

Barry has a vibrant campus. As a NCAA Division II University and recipient of numerous Sunshine State Conference and national championship titles, accomplished and dedicated athletes and coaches enhance school spirit. In addition, dance and theater performances and art and photography exhibitions occur throughout the year.
