Tenure-track Assistant Professor- Mechanical Engineering

Position One (Materials): The candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or closely related field completed by August 2019. A strong background in materials science engineering, properties, processing and structures is required.  Preferred additional knowledge and expertise areas include advanced materials processing and characterization, corrosion, additive manufacturing, and manufacturing of traditional and advanced materials. PositionTwo (Product Design and Manufacturing): The candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field completed by August 2019. A strong background in product design and manufacturing is required. Preferred additional knowledge and expertise areas include machine design, design automation, computer-aided design, simulation-based design, design for manufacturing, or quality design. For both positions, a strong commitment to quality teaching is essential. The successful candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses and laboratories, including capstone design, advise students and engage in scholarly activities. The candidates must demonstrate the ability to work with diverse groups.
