Centre College is accepting applications for the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College. This position is the chief academic officer for the College and shall direct the academic program and advise the President on all matters pertaining to the development and implementation of academic policies and programs and scholarly activities, including budgetary support and personnel recommendations.  In addition, this position provides leadership in and is responsible for the Library, Information Technology Services, Advising, Academic Affairs, Office of Diversity, Convocations, Center for Global Citizenship, Center for Teaching and Learning, Center for Career and Professional Development and Registrar.  The Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College reports to the President and is a member of the Senior Administrative Staff.  This position is the primary liaison to the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees.

MISSION STATEMENT

First adopted by the Board of Trustees in 1999 and reaffirmed in 2015, the College’s mission stems from the broader Statement of Purpose. Centre College’s mission is to prepare students for lives of learning, leadership, and service.

Candidates should have a distinguished record in teaching and scholarship and a strong commitment to the undergraduate liberal arts setting.  In addition, the candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills and be effective in both oral and written communications.  This position requires a doctorate or the equivalent.
