Dean of the School of Business

The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites inquiries, nominations, and expressions of interest for its next Dean of the School of Business. Ranked one of the top public colleges in the nation, TCNJ's School of Business is also consistently rated among the top undergraduate programs in business education. A broad foundation in liberal arts coupled with specialized knowledge in targeted areas of study, prepares graduates with the intellectual flexibility to succeed in an increasingly complex global marketplace. Enrolling over 1,200 students in eight undergraduate programs, specializations and minors, the School's graduates measure success beyond the bottom line from creating innovation in business practice to engaging as socially responsible citizens.

With the appointment of its new president, Dr. Kathryn Foster, on July 1, the College community is poised to work together envisioning "a reach that is at once bold, compelling, and ambitious, yet achievable.” Working closely with a committed group of faculty and senior leaders, the Dean will be proactive in moving the school forward as a center of excellence in teaching and learning, to prepare students for chosen careers or grad school. In addition, the School of Business is looking forward to the launch of its first graduate program as it begins recruitment for its new MBA Fall 2018.

Working in collaboration with TCNJ's six other schools, the next Dean will join a collegial environment focused on student centeredness and participatory governance. While simultaneously promoting signature strengths and interdisciplinary collaboration, the Dean will also promote flexibility through new curricula and approaches to teaching and learning that provide increased pathways for study in growing fields. Additionally, TCNJ is centrally located among many large and innovative companies in the Northeast corridor. The next Dean will leverage this asset, by having the vision and desire to focus on establishing and developing new and existing relationships with companies and firms.

The successful candidate should exhibit outstanding leadership skills, including the ability to connect with the College’s various constituencies and build consensus, working with a diverse body of students, faculty and staff and demonstrating commitment to inclusiveness and transparency.

The School of Business has 41 full-time faculty and 6 staff, and offers AACSB-accredited degree programs in eight baccalaureate programs. The School's academic units include Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, and Marketing along with minors in additional areas including Business and Society, Human Resource Management, Information Systems and Technology, International Business, and Professional Selling. Further business, learning and service opportunities are offered through the School's Center for Innovation and Ethics as well as its Small Business Development Center.
