Job Description:
The history department at the University of Texas at El Paso invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in the twentieth-century history of Central, Eastern and/or Southeastern Europe to begin in the fall of 2019. The ideal applicant will have a research interest in boundaries, migration, the politics of racial or ethnic division, or other Borderlands-related issues that will enable broad contribution to our doctoral program in Borderlands history. This program capitalizes on our location on the U.S.-Mexico border, but encompasses both conceptual and comparative borderlands as well. Willingness to develop and teach one half of the introductory U.S. History survey desirable. History faculty are expected to have active research and publication agendas and will have teaching loads consistent with those at other research universities. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Requirements:
A Ph.D. in history or closely related field required at time of appointment.
