Assistant Professor of Public Administration

The School of Public Administration (SPA) at Florida Atlantic University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Public Administration position. This is a full-time, tenure track position, beginning in August of 2019.

 

Generalist Public Administration applicants with strong and flexible quantitative and qualitative/interpretive methodological expertise and evidence of potential excellence in scholarship and teaching are invited to apply. Prospective candidates must have active and high-quality research agendas in public administration, public affairs, or public policy and demonstrate a strong commitment and ability to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate core Public Administration courses. SPA has considerable online enrollment, and the Assistant Professor will teach both face-to-face and online courses. Ability to guide public sector field research or other doctoral student research and work in a multicultural environment is preferred.

 

The Assistant Professor will be responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of the university and will perform teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities.  Supplementary activities will include advising, representing the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or Statewide committees and other related activities.

Qualification: 

Ph.D. in Public Administration or a closely related field from an accredited institution required by time of appointment.

 

Must have active research agendas in public administration, public affairs, or public policy.

 

A strong background in Generalist Public Administration with strong and flexible quantitative and qualitative/interpretive methodological expertise and evidence of potential excellence in scholarship and teaching is required.

 

Ability to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate core Public Administration courses, both in-person and online required.

 

Ability to guide public sector field research or other doctoral student research is desirable.
