Cardiovascular Diseases TT position

The University of Iowa’s Francois M. Abboud Cardiovascular Research Center (ACRC) is recruiting a scientist at the level of Assistant Professor in the Tenure Track to join a group of investigators with interest and expertise in cardiovascular diseases. The successful candidate will have an extramurally funded research program studying the central nervous system mechanisms contributing to the pathophysiology of heart failure and hypertension using rat models. The Center has a strong and productive history of investigation in this field and is seeking applicants who can complement current strengths of the core of investigators within the Center. The successful candidate will be a member of this Program and will be expected to work collaboratively with other members, with the goal of submitting multi-PI and program project grants.  Additional desirable qualifications include prior research on inflammatory mechanisms and cytokines in the cardiovascular system.

Applicants must have an MD, PhD or MD/PhD and basic science postdoctoral research training experience, and must display strong evidence of the potential for independence and the ability to obtain extramural funding. Authorization to work in the U.S. is required. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary and laboratory space adjacent to other members of the Program in the ACRC.
