Chair, Endocrinology and Metabolism Institute

Cleveland Clinic, one of the world’s most distinguished academic medical centers, announces a search for the Chair of the Endocrinology and Metabolism Institute (EMI). 

EMI is a leader in Diabetes and Endocrinology ranked #3 by US News and World Report and #1 in Ohio. The Institute has strong local, regional, national and international recognition for excellence in clinical care, clinical and translational research, and education. EMI is dedicated to exploring innovative ways to improve care of its patients and to teaching ways to treat them.

The Institute is comprised of the Department of Endocrinology, the Department of Endocrine Surgery as well as the Diabetes Center and Thyroid Center. There are a total of 30 Professional Staff members who see patients at 15 locations in Northeast Ohio, including both the Cleveland and Akron markets.  A strong fellowship training program is also part of EMI with 18 fellows. Among significant milestones, in 2016, EMI affiliated with the National Diabetes, Obesity and Research Institute to help research and reduce the prevalence of diabetes and obesity both nationally and worldwide.

We are searching for a physician leader to carry EMI into the future. The ideal candidate should be a leading clinician, educator, and scholar, who supports research and education within the subspecialty and who can work collaboratively within an integrated, multi-specialty organization. Strong leadership competencies are key success elements for the role. The successful candidate will be eligible for both faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
